Lol wtf. My comp cannot play sounds anymore. My room now sounds like a graveyard.

In under 2 days, NY ODAC will be going against the odds (and 58 teams, 5 CJ teams and 66 storeys) in the National Vertical Marathon, attempting to place the 4 teams into the top 5 positions.(which is pretty much an extremely hard task to achieve) It'll also probably the first time I'll be taking part competitively in an externally organized race.

About 6 weeks ago, Uncle Kwek gave a little speech on school budget and nicely launched himself into an argument about CCAs taking part in competitions. (SYF, A Divs etc etc) His take was that if they're going, then they're gonna have to win cause the reputation of NY was at stake, so to say. He also added that if they're not going to win, then they shouldn't have to go, lest they put NY's name to shame.

It didn't hit me as hard as it should have, but only like 2 weeks later after I read some article online did I realize that what he said was quite wrong at that point of time. Being a principal of a college, he should be promoting values like sportsmanship blahblahblah instead of saying stuff like "if you're not going to win, then you better not go". You get the idea.

But standing at this point of time with the NVM in under 48 hrs, I'm going to have to say he was right in some way. What's the point of a competition if we're not there to win? If we're going to be present at the competition, we might as well make our presence felt.

Training for everyone has been pretty much crazy enough, considering many of them are new to this. For now, what really matters is that few minutes up that building. Just a few minutes.

Then I'm going to bring back the damn medal and make Kwek give it to me.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a marathon to win.

Pray for me. Lol. Bye.
